Governor Crist was presented with HB 173.
We are at the last hurdle to see the use tax exemption issue finally resolved. Passage will allow owners of newly purchased aircraft to visit Florida during the first 6 months of ownership. For tourism, there would be a maximum of 21 days during the first 6 months but if the owner is bringing the aircraft to Florida for flight training, repairs, maintenance, or retrofitting there is no time restriction. This will bring tourism and aviation business dollars to Florida. You need to contact the Governor and ask him to sign HB 173. We can't let our guard down.
